Why we built this
When we first moved to Dubai, every “guide” we found was either a listicle recycled from 2019 or a thinly-veiled property ad. Nobody told us that rent is paid in post-dated cheques. Nobody warned us about the summer electricity bills. Nobody ranked the neighbourhoods honestly.
So we decided to write the guide we wished existed — with real prices, real opinions, and zero sponsored placements influencing what we recommend.

Our promise
Every guide on The Dubai Life is based on first-hand experience, verified prices, and resident perspectives. We don’t accept payment for rankings or reviews. If something is sponsored, we label it clearly — though you won’t find that here yet, because we haven’t accepted any.
Who writes The Dubai Life
The Dubai Life is written by Dubai residents — people who've signed the leases, sat through the Junes and ridden the metro lines they write about. Every guide is independent: no sponsored rankings, prices checked for 2026, and corrections always welcome.
Editorial policy
Independence
Nobody pays to be included in, or ranked higher in, our guides. We don’t accept payment for reviews, and anything sponsored in future will be clearly labelled as such.
How we research
Prices, fares, fees, opening hours and rules change often in Dubai, so we check them against current official and authoritative sources — government sites such as the RTA and DLD, Visit Dubai, and established outlets like Gulf News, Khaleej Times and The National — and note the year the figures apply to.
Keeping guides current
When facts in a guide change we update it, and the article shows the date it was last updated.
Corrections
Spotted something out of date or wrong? Tell usand we’ll check it and fix it.
