Nothing Groovy About Grooverider’s Arrest!

There's been plenty in the news about westerners flouting strict tradtions and incurring their wrath.
And now BBC Radio One's DJ, Grooverider, has been arrested in Dubai because he had been caught with some drugs and some pronographic dvds.
Now we all know that Dubai is probably on the road to rack and ruin and that such items can probably be purchased quite readily once within the Gulf state and such hypocrisy will not go unnoticed by those that have visited Dubai.
However, bringing them into the country is another thing entirely, and you have no one else to blame but yourself if you are caught in possesion of said items at passport control! He was even warned about such a scenario!
Ram Nath, the music promoter who organised the show, said that he warned Mr Bingham of the strict laws of the country before his departure from London.
"I sent a fax to him explaining all of our laws, including what he could and could not bring into the country."
When you sit down and think about it you cannot help but be astonoished at this guy's stupidity. Did he really have such a big inflated ego that thought he could swan in into Dubai with a bit of hash and some porno dvds? Dubai has every right to uphold thier laws.
