Strong Market Response to Style Hong Kong Expo in Dubai
Middle East Buyers Attracted to Quality Lifestyle Products of more than 200 Hong Kong Companies
December 19, 2008: Style Hong Kong Expo in Dubai, the largest showing of Hong Kong products in the Middle East, successfully concluded its fifth edition yesterday (Thursday, December 18, 2008) at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
“We are pleased with the enthusiastic response from exhibitors and buyers,” said Paul Yin, Council Member of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), which organises the annual Hong Kong product exhibition.
“This year’s show is a remarkable achievement considering the economic challenges faced by many companies as a result of the global credit crunch. The exhibition’s turnout has met our expectations,” said Mr Yin.
Buyers from the United Arab Emirates and throughout the Middle East region visited the four-day fair to source the quality offerings of more than 200 Hong Kong companies.
The exhibition showcased consumer electronics and IT products, costume jewellery, clothing, environmental products, furniture and furnishings, handbags and leather goods, toys and games, lighting products, houseware, watches and clocks, sporting and travel goods, stationery, hotel supplies and construction materials.
This year’s Style Hong Kong Expo in Dubai was inaugurated by HH Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Director General, Dubai Department of Information, together with Mr Yin and Jeff Ambjorn, HKTDC Regional Director, Middle East and Africa.
