Monday, 15 December 2008 No Comment

Sales Figures for This Year Are Up 60% across the GCC

Samsonite, the world leader in luxury baggage segment has added many exclusive retail stores in the region in the recent months, including the UAE. The recent inauguration of its stores at the Dubai Mall, Mall of Emirates and the one at the Deira City Centre is testimony to Samsonite’s growing popularity in the region. The company has also added more than 50 stores across the GCC, in association with other retailers like Harvey Nichols, Shoemart, Strandbags and Debenhams, and more stores for the GCC are in the pipeline.

“We have added wider range of products like Bayamo, Concertine, Stratolite, Cordoba, AeroPC, Quadrion etc. to our collections in the recent months and will be re-launching some of our previous best selling products like Xion2, Hommage2 and ProDeluxe’08. We will also be introducing the Black Label Classic Trunk before the end of this year. The newly opened Samsonite stores at the well-known shopping malls of Dubai will showcase Samsonite’s brand value in the region.” says Mr. Prashant Vatkar, Vice President-ME Operations Samsonite.

Samsonite’s products are the symbol of luxury and affluence. The company’s expansion into Dubai will increase Samsonite’s hold in the luxury baggage segment. The recently opened stores of Samsonite are set to draw attention of the multinational crowd of Dubai’s shopping malls.

In addition to the UAE, Samsonite has also opened up exclusive stores at Red Sea Mall-Jeddah and Avenue Mall-Kuwait in the recent months, and will be later opening up stores at the Bahrain City Centre-Bahrain and the Khimji Ramdas Mega Store-Muscat, Oman within few weeks from now. The exclusive and non- exclusive stores in the GCC have increased Samsonite’s overall revenue from the region, with UAE leading the pack. The increase in sales is the outcome of constant and sustained growth by Samsonite in the GCC. The recent launch of new models and new stores is an indication of the company’s development in the region.

Mr. Prashant Vatkar further adds: “Our products are always the preferred choice among the business travelers and celebrities. The wide range of products that we have will suit the needs of every kind of person. Our products are exclusive in design and build, they are durable and easy to use.”

Samsonite is geared up for an all round makeover before the end of this year. Samsonite presence in the GCC, particularly the UAE will be more noticeable in the days to come as it is set to launch more and more stores.
