Dubai, UAE; December 15, 2008: Emaar Hospitality Group, the hospitality & leisure subsidiary of Emaar Properties PJSC, won the ‘Hospitality Company of the Year’ award at the Arabian Business Achievement Awards 2008. The award recognises Emaar’s pioneering initiatives in the hospitality & leisure sector, demonstrated by the success of The Address Hotels + Resorts, a home-grown 5-star hotel brand launched this year by Emaar Hospitality Group.

H.E. Dr Omar Bin Sulaiman, Governor, Dubai International Financial Center presented the award to Mr Marc Dardenne, Chief Executive Officer, Emaar Hospitality Group and Emaar Hotels & Resorts, at a gala ceremony held in Dubai.

Mr Dardenne said: “The Arabian Business Achievement Award 2008 for Hospitality Company of the Year comes as a fitting reward for Emaar Hospitality Group this year. 2008 has been a momentous year for us, as we consolidated our hospitality & leisure portfolio, and launched The Address Hotels + Resorts brand, which has been well-received globally.”

He added: “Coming in the very first year of roll-out of Dubai’s newest hotel and home-grown hospitality brand, the award is also a testament to the highest standards of service offered by our associates, who have been drawn from all parts of the world. Emaar Hospitality Group is led by a philosophy to offer exceptional guest service in properties that are set in distinctive locations, and the award will inspire us to further enhance our service standards.”

Emaar Hospitality Group opened its first hotel under the Address Hotels + Resorts banner, The Address, Downtown Burj Dubai in October, 2008.
