Dubai Taxi honours Cab Drivers for distinguished performance in customer service

Wednesday, 17 December 2008 No Comment

Dubai (United Arab Emirates): Dubai Taxi Agency at Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) recently honoured a number of taxi drivers for their distinguished performance in customer service.

Abdul Aziz Malik, CEO of Dubai Taxi Corporation, stated that RTA was keen to honor its distinguished drivers & employees to showcase their sustained efforts and dedication to serve the public. He hailed their duties in serving passengers and contribution towards realizing the vision of the RTA to provide safe and smooth transport for all. In the meantime he praised the performance of all Dubai Taxi Agency drivers and their contribution to boost the business & profile of the RTA across the community. He emphasized the role of drivers as envoys engaged in daily interaction with the public; an exercise which requires wisdom, patience and showing respect under all conditions and with all spectrums of the community.

“Honouring these employees reflects the intention of Dubai Taxi Agency to acknowledge the incessant efforts of distinguished drivers who are working tirelessly far away from the direct supervision of the Agency. Their achievements need to be highlighted and celebrated as they are setting a role model out of their own conscience to do more and better, and achieve the intended objectives without angling for reward, whatsoever was the scope or nature of their assignments.

“15 drivers have been honoured on the light of several standards & indicators. These include that the driver’s personal folder has to be free from offences, accidents and complaints, he has to maintain a high level of cleanliness, honesty and punctuality in reporting to duty, besides that the driver shall contribute to a high level of revenue to the Agency” added Malik. The ceremony was attended by Ahmed Al-Hamadi, Acting Director of Fleet Processes and Operations Dep’t, Ammar bin Tamim, Director of Fleet Drivers Affairs Dep’t, Hussain Al-Banna, Director of Resources & Support Dep’t, and a number of section managers in the Agency.

“Honourees expressed their extreme gratitude and appreciation of this noble gesture from Dubai Taxi Agency and pledged to redouble their efforts in discharging their duties. They stated that such a step gives them huge impetus to make better achievements in the public interest and enhance the efforts of the Agency to improve the level of services rendered to the public in a way to keep pace with the status of Dubai in the region and the sweeping development witnessed by commercial, real estate, tourist and service sectors in the emirate.
