Is UAE It’s Own Worst Enemy?

Monday, 4 May 2009 One Comment

No one seems to like the UAE at the moment. Last month the BBC did an expose on the current plight of construction workers in Dubai. Hot on those heels comes ABC recent investigation on the UAE’s royal family and its conducts. It has unearthed torture tapes which shows Sheikh Issa bin Zayed al-Nahyan, who is now under investigation in the United Arab Emirates, beating a man with a nailed plank, setting him on fire, attacking him with a cattle prod and running him over.

That is only the tip of the iceberg. Reading the current news on Dubai is certainly depressing. If it is not human trafficking, it is the economic crisis hitting the region, or this, or this, or this.

It seems that no one likes Dubai or the UAE anymore, least of all it’s own people!
