How not to apply for a job in Dubai
So much development so many job Dubai is the place of opportunity itself. However if you are a born idiot and have no respect for other people then I guess you have no chance of getting a job no matter what. Check out the email conversation below and to think this guy actually applied for a job at the company North 55. I don’t think this man will ever get a job in Dubai as the whole agency network will know about him by now, total loser.

Subject: multimediator/web designer position
Amir Saffar
To Whom It May Concern:
I am a web developer/designer with experience in designing corporate, commercial, retail, and business web systems. With more than 6 years experience designing Internet/multimedia systems professionally in a production environment, I could be a valuable asset to your web design and multimedia team.
Managing projects, task delegation, and client relations have been necessary skills at my previous employment positions. These have always been tasks that I excel at and enjoy.
My experience in web site consultation critiquing usability, functionality, aesthetics, and search engine placement can help clients with their existing web content by introducing them to innovative and cost-effective solutions.
My enthusiasm, creativity, communication skills and ability to work without supervision are my strong points. I have extensive design experience using Flash, Dreamweaver, HTML, CSS, VB, C#, SQL, Photoshop, Illustrator, QuarkXPress, 3dsMax, and other programs. I would be able to create a dynamic company presence for you on the Internet.
I am currently on vacation for two months in the region. Since I have a Canadian passport, traveling to the UAE would not be an issue for me at all. I also have to mention that since I have lived in a multicultural country and because of my background, I have been trained to work with people who have different cultures and backgrounds. Therefore I hope my experience in this field could be a valuable asset to your company.
I would welcome an opportunity to discuss my qualifications and experience in greater detail. I am available for an interview at your convenience.

Thanks for sending us your CV – we’d certainly be interested in speaking with you. Just to clarify, are you planning to visit Dubai during your vacation? If not, perhaps we can arrange to speak over the phone.

it’s very simple Mike. You are interested in my profile and i wanted to know how much you were able to pay. no response means: you either can’t pay that much,
or you only hire indians and pakistanis who don’t ask for a good salary.
but dude, i am neither indian or paki and i have never worked for less than
2000 usd/month. You got it now!?
Amir

Jesus, that’s some chip you’ve got on your shoulder there pal. Before the email I received on 11th December, I’d only gotten one from you – the first, which included your CV. As far as I can see, it didn’t mention money. If you sent another after that, then sorry, but I didn’t get it, which is why I didn’t reply.
Anyway, it’s all worked out well. I wouldn’t want a bigotted arsehole like you working with us, and I’m sure that the Indians and Pakis who work at North55 – most of whom earn more than US,000 a month, some by a factor of three – are glad that they won’t have to put up with your small-minded bullshit either. The Brits, South Africans and Canadians will probably be pretty cock-a-hoop too.
Best of luck finding a job in Dubai – I’m sure you’ll get exactly the kind of position you deserve.
Cheers,
Mike

i’m sending this e-mail twice. i wanna make sure you get it this time!!
2000 USD/month is a joke bro. I got paid that much when I graduated from College/without any exp.
I’m pretty sure most of you guys work at coffee shops when you finish your work at the studio.
What doesn’t make sense to me is, why would a guy from N America or Europe want to work for that amount. Perhaps you’ve had a low paid job back home and you are satisfied with 2000 USD! weren’t you a cleaner/or a security guard…Mike!?

You really are an irritating little troll aren’t you? You can barely write English, and you seem to have a problem reading it too. So I’ll break it down for you: not. wanted. here.
Now fuck off.
All the best,
Mike.
PS – I’ve taking the liberty of copying some of my colleagues in the industry here, just in case they too should have the misfortune of hearing from you. I’m sure they’d be kind enough to forward it on to their pals, too, and with any luck you’ll be back fucking moose in time for Christmas. (Oh, and by the way, if you’re such hot shit, why the reluctance to include a link to any of your work in your CV? So you’ve got six years’ experience – big deal. You don’t seem to have been able to hold down a job for too long – or were they short-term cleaner/security guard contracts?)

4. had a criminal background, so you couldn’t get a job back home
5. a bad designer who never worked for a real company. One of those guys who is a pain in the ass in the production team.
who knows, maybe one day you’ll be working for people like me if you ever decide to return to Europe or N America. * I guess would lose the job within 3 months.
good luck Mike.

Don’t you really have anything else to do, other than forwording useless e-mails to other people and writting a blog. Dude, if you work at a pro company, you don’t even have time to drink coffee. you are not a pro!! that’s it. and your e-mails are going to the garbage bin from now.

I can not remember last time I had such a laugh!!!!
I happened to find this site by accident…it’s hillariousssssss :0)
thank you for publishing this and making my day
OMG!!!!I cannot believe that someone can be so stupid and arrogant especially when looking for a job!! Did he really think that he would’ve been offered a position at this company with an attitude like that? Nevertheless, I had a good laugh at his expense.
What a pathetic man.
Anyway, back with job apps after this hilarious yet also brutal insight into the personality of an idiot.
Thanks Mike… for allowing us all a glimpse of what it is to be an arrogant waste of space (AKA Amir).
Thanks Amir… for making me feel so much better about my chances of achieving a life changing career. Yours, however, are slim.
Will
i really found this site by accident beacause my dream is to work in UAE i wrote aplly for job in UAE and i found this grat site really thank you for thi amazing site and i hope to join you soon in UAE
This is really a fun..though I have to admit there are some points in thats guys mail..for example some indian pros willing to work for the lowest salary… Can you imagine a very good IT pro with more that 10 years experience working for 7000Dhms? just visit one of the so called biggest company in Dubai called Cyber Gear. I know them personally.
I want to get job in UAE
Thanks for this article. We will definately look out for this job-seeker.
Haha. I feel embarrassed to even be the same race as this man. Not everyone from the western world is a complete idiot; although we do have our fair share of them.
i cant believe this guy. he is ridiculous really
Asif has sooo much attitude, jumping to conclusions (lunatic), that sort of behaviour is unnacceptable! learn some manners amir! and you talk about Indians or Pakistanis! what are you your self? Canadian passport? pshh anyone can get a canadian passport by just stepping foot in to canada and refusing to go back! big deal asshole, I have more qualifications than you, dont see me acting like a asshole to a “future employer”! anyways nice one Andy!
there seems to be something cut out in between the conversation! but yeah amir is wrong,
I read the entire page. Seems interesting. In comments, I found Cg is talking about salary in a company called Cyber Gear. One of my friend went their for work..and in a single day she stopped! Just having some famous clients, doesn’t make a company great. By the way, Is anybody out there to give salary levels for web designers and developers?
Sigh…well,at least now i know what NOT to do when emailing someone for a job.Whats really sad is,he received a reply from the HR (I’m assuming?) guy and he totally blew by being a stuck-up snob. Man,if that were me,i’ll be freaking grateful he even replied with chances of getting hired..wow.I can’t believe there are people like that.
Gotta thank Amir, least now i won’t feel like such a loser when i don’t get replies from prospective employers.
i feel sorry for the guy. maybe in his 6 years of experience working as a designer, he acts as a boss of his boss. It seems that he can easily put his job on garbage just to show to his employer “it’s not my lost, it’s yours!” Hope his parents will teach him a good attitude. Eventhough he is a very good or the best designer here in the world, attitude is more important for you to be happy and satisfied to your job.
Just a suggestion to Mr. Mike of North55, you can post his picture or his resume, email address that he submitted during his application. It’s important that all companies must warned. But if you think those blogs are enough, i will not complain on that.
Goodluck to you Amir. You still have time to change!
Cheers!
Found this blog/site be sheer accident researching….jobs in Dubia lol – Thank you sooooo much!!! That was uterly hilarious…..what a nasty little man….i wouldn’t so much say he has a chip on his shoulder though…more like an entire bag of spuds?
Dubai is indeedad a very advanced palce in the world.
I have to say, i think the applicant must be a joke or someone who wanted to fool the employer, there is no way someone could be this stupid.
The first mail is so incredibly missleading. Now I know why people don’t answer my applications.. It has the same tone.. and when you have the same tone as this kind of… well… i’m goin for #1. security gard.. than it’s hard to recognize if I’m for real.. thanks for this awsome laugh, i’m in tears.
ps the HR guy, Mike, rocks.. i learned how to pro-diss people in one chat
Reading it was really a funn, however i still feel sorry for the guy,, he should not have got so much annoyed.
Cheer up man
yeah, that is why it is being called as dubai..nice article
A word of caution to anyone applying for a job in Dubai. Beware of a financial services company called Globaleye. They are looking to recruit people to become “Wealth Managers”; this is another word for Independent Financial Advisor. You do not have to have experience as their one week intensive course will “teach you everything”. On the course you are encouraged by one of Globaleye’s Vice Presidents to lie about your past, in other words never tell someone that you are new to the business. Instead you are instructed to make up a false C.V. and tell prospective clients that you have many years of experience in advising people where to invest their hard earned money. You are expected to work for no basic wage with commission only, supply your own computer and find your own accommodation which is expensive in Dubai when you are not earning a basic wage. You also have to bring with you a large list of prospective names that could become clients. You then have to cold call them to make appointments, oh sorry…..first the company sends them an e-mail so it’s not really a cold call. I have had a very bad experience with this company and want to warn others, and I am an experienced IFA.
Oh man i was having a real bad day and guess what really had a good laugh after reading this mail . But to be honest im not a superman either but it would’nt be wrong saying that i have witnessed some really incompetent and useless westerners (especially from the U.K, Australia) getting big fat salaries just because of some race superiority notion. Dont take me wrong there are the ones who really deserve it but i know some people if you look at them it looks like he was sitting in a pub in London half drunk (you can see that from their teeth) and someone from Dubai went there and said in an arabic accent ” you want manager …..ok come i give u good position just make me money because i have money but no brain, but i can drive very fast …….wallah!!!
same as everybody else, looking for a change and stumbled upon this,
what a pratt lol…. Must be a lonely guy…
ZUAHAHAHUAHUHAUHAUHAUUAHHUAHAUAHUAH!!!!!!!!!!
THIS GUY IS FANTASTICO!!!!
thanks steve thats good advice
hahhahahah. its hard to believe this actually happened. but damn i chose to believe that it did!!! hahahaha.
It’s so hard for me to believe that people like this are actually alive. I would have thought they would have hanged themselves or found some other way to remove themselves from the gene pool.
Amir, get laid and be happy!! All that pressure in your testicles took your people skills away..
“Congratulations – you’re famous:” ha ha ha ha ha
The guy seems stupid and arrogant but. i guess he has worked here and left dubai for good and just played a prank on HR. frankly speaking its worthless living here in UAE. i was born in UAE and i have no benefits and i am still a paki and always will be till the day i die. one day i will be forced to return to my country which i have only visited once. I wish my dad had gone to work in some other asian country. atleast by birth i would have been some other national. why i am such a winy guy. Well, because i have not got employment so far. and my visa will expire within few months.
I came here accidentally, but I can’t really believe there is someone like this man.. ” AMIR “, I am so sorry for you..upon reading your CV you seemed to have a good career, but I doubt it…it’s good for “NOTHING”…
This is just brilliant I have not laughed like that in such a long time, I just came across this blog but have booked marked so that I can come back again.
I just searched “dubai web design jobs” on google and this was the second result!!!
Congratulations Mr. Saffar! You are famous!
This would make for a brillant script for a comedy sketch !! Perhaps Little Britain of The Office could do it justice…
maybe the poor guy was seeing what’s his worth if he had those alleged credentials….
Really, a good but in fact bad way to apply for!!!
Its really funny.
Amazing post , laughed my tummy out !
Amir Saffar.. See you soon… cause indians / pakistani / security and janitors are looking for you.
good one guys…..
I rolled around laughing, and I thought I had a problem – just getting a visa to the UAE…. poor guy
WHAT A CONVERSATION I CANNOT EXPLAIN THAT HOW MUCH I HAVE LAUGHED AT THIS REALLY GREAT THING
CHEERS TO ALL
)))))))))))
I had a great time reading this…
I can’t imagine how arrogant this man was to a prospective employer.
Anyway, I want to come to UAE for a job. I can see my future in there. I am a Commerce Graduate from the Philippines.
will watch out for his name in North America…can’t wait to kick him out from my office.
what a loser… i bet he is now famous… for being a loser… hahaha
BEST LAUGH in Years!
If I come to Duabi i would like to have an Arabian cup of tea with you Mike and if I am in Canada…..
how long this crisis will happen ? any comment?
Just read this and couldn’t stop laughing. Absolutely priceless.
