Brad Pitt Designs Dubai Hotel

Monday, 2 June 2008 No Comment

We’ve always secretly known how much Dubai’s building scene and architectural frenzy of recent times likes to think of itself in the realms of Hollywood, but getting A-Lister Brad Pitt to design a hotel is surely getting ridiculous.

We at TheDubaiLife would laugh if it wasn’t so funny. According to the property company, Zabeel Properties, behind it the project will be “socially conscious” and a world leader in environmental sustainability, even though it will eventually end up as “800-room luxury hotel and adjoining leisure complex, and will play host to star-studded events and awards ceremonies”. That a contradiction in terms to say the least.

Of course Mr Angelina Jolie is adamant about his part in the process: “Whilst acting is my career, architecture is my passion. Selecting this development as my first major construction project has been a simple decision,” he said. “We will be unveiling precise plans in the next few months, but you can expect something that is not only stunning to look at, but will also be an incredible attraction to visit or stay at.”
